How to Pack the Perfect Carry-On Bag

Every seasoned traveler knows a well packed carry-on bag can mean the difference between a comfortable or miserable flight. Luckily for you, I’ve done the leg work! No matter how short or long your flight is, here’s everything you need to ensure a seamless travel experience. Bag: My go-to carry on bag is the Lo & Sons OG Bag, AKA the most incredible carry-on bag in the world. I’m not exaggerating when I say this bag has a place for everything. There are so many little compartments for your laptop, tablet, pens, chapsticks, keys… Heck, there’s even a hidden compartment for an extra pair of shoes! My favorite feature is the slit in the back, which allows you to slide the bag onto your carry-on luggage handle. No more achey shoulders! If you don’t need the extra compartments or if you want something more versatile that you can use on… View Post

My Favorite Fall Getaway Spots

Fall is in the air! Well, for some of us at least. The one downside about living in Florida is that there isn’t really a change in the weather until November or sometimes even December. I don’t know about you, but as soon as fall hits, all I want to do is throw on a cozy sweater, trendy hat and booties, and sip on a warm chai latte while strolling through a scenic park. But in Clearwater, that’s just not going to happen right now. No matter where you live– even if it’s somewhere with a true autumn climate– taking a little time off for a fall getaway a must! Luckily for you, these destinations are perfect for both short and long trips, and will be sure to cure your travel bug (at least for a little!). Here are some of my favorite places to escape to during the season…… View Post

My Top Must-Dos in Barcelona

Barca, barca, barca. After two visits to this captivating city, it’s abundantly clear to me that this classic destination is in a league of it’s own. My first trip to Barcelona was a weekend stint during my semester abroad in Florence back in 2013. This summer, I had the chance to revisit what is better known to locals as the capital of Catalonia. Of course, I revisited the classics like Barceloneta beach and the famous La Rambla, but I also got the chance to see some sights I missed out on previously. If you’re traveling to this vibrant region of Spain for the first time, you can’t go wrong with hitting up these spots. 1. Check out the street art As soon as you step onto the streets of Barcelona, you can’t help but notice it’s bold personality– particularly, the quirky street art. The Girl’s Guide to Oktoberfest

So you’ve decided to go to Oktoberfest. Well, you can rest assured that you’re going to have a once in a lifetime experience. But what do you need to know before you go? From dirndls, to beer, to those ridiculous gingerbread hearts; I’ve got you covered! What to expect Believe it or not, Oktoberfest is a family friendly event– particularly during the day. There are countless carnival rides in addition to the famous beer tents, and hundreds of food options. There are 14 massive tents to choose from, each more epic than the last. It’s completely normal to only visit one or two tents per day depending on hour long you stay. If you get a good spot and are enjoying the environment, there’s really no reason to leave for another! Most tents have brass bands who play a mixture of Bavarian tunes and pop culture classics like Don’t Stop… View Post

Exploring Wynwood: Miami’s Art District

As a born and raised Florida girl, I’ve road tripped from the east coast (where I’m from) over the the west coast of my state more times than I can count. From the unbeatable nightlife, culture, cuisine and of course, the beach, a trip to Miami never disappoints! But aside from hitting up south beach or heading to one of the best EDM festivals in the world, there’s another area of Miami you NEED to see. If you’re a fan of all things colorful and whimsical, or if you love impromptu photo shoots (calling all basic girls… Myself included), visiting Wynwood is an absolute must. Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t in my favor on the day I chose to roam the streets of Wynwood, but I didn’t let dark skies rain on my parade (literally). Actually, I sometimes prefer overcast skies for photography purposes. Who knew I was such an optimist?! With… View Post

Mandarin Oriental New York: Photo Diary

I’ve been to New York many times, and each time is better than the last. On my most recent visit, I had the opportunity to stay at the Mandarin Oriental New York. This luxury hotel boasts a view so beautiful that I couldn’t help sharing it in a short little post with you all! The Mandarin is best known for the lobby lounge, which offers the bird’s eye view of Manhattan pictured above. The stark contrast between lush Central Park and the stunning skyscrapers just across the street had me feeling like I was in a dream. If you’re thinking about visiting NYC for the first time and want my recommendations, check out my Ultimate Guide to New York City. Not only does the lobby lounge offer one of the most breathtaking views in New York, but it also serves up some creative cuisine with an Asian flair. David and… View Post
